Critical Residence

Each year, the Cité de l'architecture welcomes a person or a team from other fields of creation or knowledge to the Critical Residence to deepen the exchange between architecture and contemporary culture.

Each resident comes to develop a research project, allowing him/her to observe the city or architecture from his/her own field: human sciences, creation, history... This project is part of the City's programmes: exhibition or seminar, production of a work, awareness-raising or research workshop.

Critical Appointments 

Regular meetings within the Platform for Architectural Creation, Les Rendez-vous critiques are the moment for the confrontation of ideas and controversy against a current background. In this lively format, the invited critics (Frédéric Edelmann, Richard Scoffier, Sophie Trelcat, Philippe Trétiack) analyse architectural production in France and abroad. All types of built programs are thus sifted through, in exchanges that aim to point out trends as well as correspondences. By definition, these Critical Appointments are addressed to a wide audience, which can intervene in the exchanges.
