Launched for the National Architecture Days (JNA)
Created in 1980, the AJAP awards (Albums des jeunes architectes et paysagistes) are held every two years to recognize emerging talents in architecture and landscape design. Open to professionals under the age of 37, the awards honor projects—built or competition entries—carried out in France. Recognizing Innovation and Commitment Among Emerging Talents
The Albums des jeunes architectes et paysagistes (AJAP) awards honor young professionals for their design ability, innovation, and commitment to major societal challenges, particularly ecological transition.
An Expanded Selection Open to New Practices
For the first time, the AJAP awards welcome graduates in architecture who, while not working as lead designers under their own name, pursue alternative professional paths: graphic representation, construction management, project ownership, scenography, cultural mediation, and more.
A Diversity of Projects for a Sustainable Built Environment
The laureates, coming from a variety of practices, embody the ambition to shape sustainable spaces in diverse contexts—from major metropolitan areas to rural landscapes. Their work demonstrates a strong commitment to innovation and sustainable development.
A Prestigious Jury
Chaired by Rima Abdul Malak, Minister of Culture from December 2019 to May 2022, the jury was co-chaired by Alain Freytet, landscape architect and winner of the 2022 Grand Prix national du paysage, and Philippe Prost, architect and winner of the 2022 Grand Prix national de l’architecture.
A Touring Exhibition
The AJAP 2023 exhibition will be inaugurated in autumn 2025 during the National Architecture Days, before touring from 2025 to 2026.
This initiative in support of young professionals is part of the Ministry of Culture’s broader strategy to promote the cultural and creative sectors. It also reflects the Ministry’s ambition to foster high-quality living environments and highlight the potential of today’s youth in shaping the world of tomorrow.
